Bloomfield Township Real Estate Listings and Information

Bloomfield Township

We’re not trying to confuse you.

But if you’re new to Metro Detroit, you might think so.

After all, we have an area on the East Side called “The Pointes” which is actually five cities: Grosse Pointe, Grosse Pointe Farms, Grosse Pointe Shores, Grosse Point Park and Grosse Pointe Woods.

And if you travel a bit northwest, you’ll come across the Bloomfield/Birmingham communities.

This collection of cities includes West Bloomfield, Bloomfield Township, Bloomfield Hills and Birmingham.

It is not uncommon for visitors to think they’re in one city, when they are actually in another.

Adding to the confusion are facts like these:

Bloomfield Township is home to the Franklin Cider Mill (which is not located in Franklin, as the name suggests) and the Birmingham Athletic Club.

But we digress…

Bloomfield Township is an affluent suburb located in Oakland Country just minutes from Detroit. It is known for winding roads, hills and beautiful homes. These homes range from luxury estates to modest starter homes perfect for first-time buyers. Bloomfield Township is over 95% residential, which means there is a special focus on the needs of homeowners.

It is has its own police department, fire department, and exceptional public services.

The township is served primarily by Bloomfield Public Schools, but a portion of the southeast corner is in Birmingham Public Schools and a portion of the northeast corner falls in Avondale School District.

Some of the finest private schools in the state including Detroit Country Day, Brother Rice, Marian High School, Cranbrook Schools and the International Academy call the township home.

The Bloomfield Township Public Library offers local students many amenities such as a vending café, twenty group study room and alcoves, outdoor terraces, Wi-Fi and various meeting rooms that can be reserved by appointment.

Throughout the year, residents enjoy the award-winning Birmingham- Bloomfield Symphony Orchestra, which has received the Detroit Motor City Award for "Most Outstanding Community Orchestra in Southeastern Michigan" 12 times. No other community orchestra has reached this recognition level.

Bloomfield Township hosts an annual Classic Car Show held in conjunction with the Woodward Dream Cruise.  The cruise includes a “dream drive” opportunity for those wishing to take a spin (for a fee, which is then donated to local causes) in a replica of a Shelby Cobra, Daytona Coupe or a GT40.

Shoppers have the convenience of in-town favorites like the Plum Market, as well as larger retailers like Boyne Country Sports, Big Lots, Target, and, Moosejaw just a few minutes’ drive into neighboring Birmingham and Bloomfield Hills.

And diners have options like  The Moose Preserve, The Franklin Grill and Pasta Fagioli close by.

In recent years Bloomfield Township has come to the spotlight for being on CNN Money’s list of “Top Earning Towns” in the U.S.  This is due in large part to many of the top automakers’ executives settling down here.
