Redford Real Estate Listings and Information

Redford

Redford remembers the good old days. The days before you had to shell out $20 for refreshments at the Cineplex.

Redford is home to one of the loveliest old movie theaters in Metro Detroit. “The Redford” as it’s known, is on Michigan’s Register of Historic Places and offers patrons a glimpse of a simpler time, right down to the scaled back prices for popcorn and soda. (They even offer 65 kinds of candy at the concession counter). Staffed by volunteers who strive to keep the theater going for generations to come, The Redford is a destination spot for people well outside of the city.

Many residents are second and third generation, and want their children and grandchildren to grow up in this tight-knit community.  Families here enjoy the many parks (15 in all) including the brand new splash park. Redford also has an ice rink, tot lots, baseball diamonds, a farmer’s market and walking paths.

Residents here are very active in the community, organizing neighborhood groups to help with everything from simple clean-ups to large-scale events.

Redford has recently welcomed a new Target store, as well as several other retail shopping chains and stores.  It has a host of restaurants and unique ethnic food offerings thanks to being on the outskirts of neighboring Detroit and Dearborn/Dearborn Heights. It is also convenient to Metro Airport, Detroit and Ann Arbor.
