Ann Arbor Real Estate Listings and Information

Ann Arbor

Hail, Hail to Michigan, the leaders and the best.

Those words to the University of Michigan fight song could also be used to describe the city it calls home: Ann Arbor.

Ann Arbor is a leader in many respects. Consider this list of designations:

  • Parenting magazine: Best Place to Raise a Family
  • Travel & Leisure magazine: America's top 15 greatest main streets
  • Forbes: Best college sports town
  • Kiplinger: Best place to retire, smartest city in the country

With places like the University of Michigan, U of M Hospital, the Big House, countless parks, restaurants, and shops, a world-class art festival every summer (and let's face it, Zingerman's Deli) it's no wonder the list of "Bests" keeps growing.

Ann Arbor is home to the Michigan Theater, which opened in 1928 and has been described as “as Shrine to Art.” Presenting specialty films, serving as home to the Ann Arbor Symphony Orchestra, and offering the Not Just for Kids series of live-on-stage programs for children and families, the Michigan is a credit to the community.

The Big House, home to the Michigan Wolverines, is a massive maize and blue structure on State Street that roars to life with more than 109,000 fans on game days.

Ann Arbor boasts an impressive array of dining options: The Blue Tractor, Black Pearl, Prickly Pear, Jerusalem Garden, Gratzi, The Chop House, Mediterrano, Amadeus, and Angelo’s (try the famous French toast).

This is a great town for power shopping or just browsing eclectic spots like 10,000 Villages. If you need gear for game day (or just to fit into the sea of maize and blue on the streets) head to the M-Den.

Other notable shopping includes 16 Hands, Hollander’s, Cherry Republic, Kerrytown Market and Shops, and Briarwood Mall.

The Ann Arbor Hands-On Museum is a great destination for families with small children. With a focus on science, math and technology, the museum offers kids 250 interactive exhibits in which to play and learn.

Veteran’s Memorial Ice Arena offers public skate times, lessons, and hockey leagues. And from November to roughly April, there’s a covered outdoor rink at Buhr Park.

Ann Arbor’s neighborhoods are quaint and quiet. This is a great town for active people who like to run or walk their dogs.

Sometimes folks refer to this college town as: “28 square miles surrounded by reality.”

You can keep the real world. We’ll be right here enjoying Ann Arbor if you need us.
