Professional Background

The Real Estate industry has seen many changes in the past two decades. I have been fortunate to have gone through these changes and have grown tremendously from them. With all of the recent technological changes, it has been critical for Realtors to keep up.  Some of the positives that have come out of the changes include: Agency, the consumer now knows who is represent whom, Environmental issues have become an important disclosure in the industry, not to mention the many incredible ways we have to communicate with our clients and customers!

Born and raised in the Detroit Metropolitan area and tied to the auto industry, I have a keen awareness of the struggle we have all gone through. I have confidence that this area is coming back and am proud to be able to provide the professional, yet personable service Sellers and Buyers are looking for in this rebounding market!

Personal Interests

I have a geat family! Doug and I just celebrated our 34th wedding anniversary this year. I have a 30 year old son named Stephen who is married to his college sweetheart, Carolyn. They live in Cambridge, MA. He will attend Tufts University in January for PA school. I am a twin (look out... a judge in Ann Arbor) and have another (Marg, if you are reading this, I did not say older) sister who lives in East Lansing. We have a great family!

I am a dog lover! I have two crazy Goldendoodles, one names Sparky (3) and the other named Diesel (1) (Detroit Dogs!). We just lost our 26 year old cat named Binx this past summer. It was very sad!

I am an avid, competitive golfer! We have traveled the world to play golf! We still have too many courses to visit! This past year, we had the pleasure of playing Cystal Downs. We have played Whistling Straights, Chambers Bay. I could go on! My best Mother's Days are spent on the golf course!

I love all kinds of music. from Eminem to Mozart. I play the violin and the piano.

I treasure my friends!

Please make yourself at Home!

Personal Background

Aside from some schooling overseas, I have been an Oakland County resident all of my life. I grew up in Royal Oak, hve lived in Berkely, Birmingham, Rochester, Lake Orion and currently live in Clarkston. I attended Albion College for my undergrad and Oakland University for my graduate studies.

A former teacher and coach of 10 years in the Rochester Community Schools, I retired to raise my son, Stephen. While he was young, I taught Adult Basic Educations and History for Lake Orion Community Education. I jumped into Real Estate with two feet in 1992 and developed a great business. I moved to a Coldwell Banker office in the mid 90's. I received my Broker's license in the late 1990's.

In the early 2000's, I was fortunate to assist the owner of Oakhurst Golf and Country Club with the sale of his vacant land. After the new clubhouse was built, I was ask to become the Membership Director. Being a competitive (now, Senior) golfer, I moved into the role of the Membership Director and put my Real Etstate career on the back burner. In 2011, I left the club industry to go back into Real Estate, hoping to train and teach new salespersons. In the fall of 2011, I began teaching Real Estate Fundamentals two nights a week. My students kept me coming back session after session!

Last year, around the holiday season, I was hired part time at a private club near Brighton. All the while, I had been watching the market pick up. And, after much debate, I activated my license with Coldwell Banker Weir Manuel. What a phnomenal company! Between the all of the support and classes, I have been able to hit the pavement running! It's a treasure to be working once again with Sellers and Buyers!

Professional Interests

Professionally, I have had the opportunity to work a variety of properties and price ranges. I take pride in knowing my market. As a former Planning Commissioner, I have had experience in working with Master Plans, land splits, platts and site condominiums. Time spent on the Board of Review has helped me better understand taxation and market values. Keeping up with the industry through good Educational classes has been a real benefit, especially with the changes we have recently experienced in the market. I am fortunate that I a able to share these resources with my clients and customers.

Education

I attended Albion College where I graduated with a BA in Visual Art and English. While teaching, I worked on my masters at Oakland University.

I am a Floyd Wykman Sweathog Grad and A Masters Grad from the Wykman Real Estate training school

I mastered the Top Gun program while at ERA.

Completed GRI I, GRI II and GRI III
